NEW! Get Ready for A&P Online Course
Are You Ready?

Now available from Pearson - the Get Ready for A&P Online Course. Built to be delivered totally online or in a blended learning environment, the Get Ready for A&P course is definitely more than a book and more robust than a companion website. It's a resource to help students prepare for and excel in their study of anatomy and physiology. Based on the successful companion workbook of the same name, the Get Ready for A&P course is the first step in preparing students for the rigors of studying anatomy and physiology in a traditional two-semester course. Students will learn anatomical terminology, basic chemistry, cell biology, and other basics of the human body - and they're drilled on math skills through practical examples and problems directly related to A&P health careers, helping them put it all in context.

In addition, this course will help students develop better study skills with interactive modules focusing on personal accountability, organization, time management, test preparation/test taking, and more.

Get Ready for A&P Online Course is part of CourseConnect, a fully customizable, content-rich online or blended learning course suite. Get Ready for A&P includes rich lesson presentations, podcasts, relevant graded assignments and assessments, self-study quizzes, tutorials, animations, and additional resources for review, providing students with courses that are engaging, interactive, and convenient. Instructors also benefit from CourseConnect through top-notch instructor support including detailed lesson plans and facilitator tips with support for potentially difficult topics and suggested discussion points. CourseConnect Get Ready for A&P Online Course enables instructors to get A&P students learning quickly and efficiently.

Practice Anatomy Lab™ 2.0 CD-ROM is an indispensable virtual anatomy practice tool that gives students 24/7 access to the most widely used lab specimens including the human cadaver, anatomical models, histology slides, cat, and fetal pig.

Each module includes hundreds of images as well as interactive tools for reviewing the specimens, learning and hearing the names of anatomical structures, seeing animations, and taking multiple-choice quizzes and fill-in-the-blank lab practical exams.

Each activity module includes three parts:

  • Self-Review allows students to review the names of structures, see highlights of structures, hear the pronunciation of anatomical terms, and turn structure labels on and off.
  • Quiz lets students test themselves on their knowledge of anatomical structures and functional anatomy. Students can, if they choose, get immediate feedback on their answers or wait to see a summary of results with correct answers and images.
  • Lab Practical simulates a real lab practical exam by presenting students with fill-in-the-blank exam questions that ask them to identify and spell the name of the structure. Students can, if they choose, see a summary of results with correct answers and images.

View Table of Contents

New features of PAL 2.0 include:

  • All-new Human Cadaver module

myA&P Websites

The myA&P websites provide students with indispensable practice tools, tutorials, and self-assessments to help them succeed in their A&P lecture and lab courses.

These websites organize resources developed from the content in each chapter of the textbook (for example, chapter quizzes, crossword puzzles, and flashcards) and the relevant course-specific, premium resources (for example, Practice Anatomy Lab™, Interactive Physiology®, and PhysioEx™). Students and instructors access these websites at www.myaandp.com.

Students can use these websites for review, practice, and self-assessment as long as they have an access code, included with any new textbook. The instructor does not have to set up a class, but the instructor can set up a class if they choose to track and assess student progress in the Gradebook.
